Summer 2021 Class Offering
connected movement with ASL
In this inclusive week-long afternoon summer class, students will explore the joy of movement and dance in a supportive environment emphasizing human connection and communication while students learn to theatrically interpret music using American Sign Language. Classes will combine technique, improvisation and movement to enhance creativity, increase strength and range of motion, and to build confidence.
August 9 - August 13 (Monday - Friday) from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Student Share for parents/friends on Friday, Aug 13 at 2:45pm
Tuition: $150/student (CTIA will be covering $80/student of program cost)
Ages: 10+. Vaccinated individuals will not be asked to wear masks.

2019-2020 Class Offerings
We are thrilled to offer multiple classes in several locations in Hartford and surrounding communities for students ages 10-21. Classes are offered to students of all abilities and are staffed with professional teaching artists specializing in music, dance, art, and theater with support from sign language interpreters and others with expertise in inclusive programing. All involved participate based upon a passion for music and performing arts! Because we believe the arts are for everyone!
All 2019/2020 classes will culminate in our major public production entitled: BELIEVE on March 21, 2020 in West Hartford, CT. Students will be joined by our amazing Featured Guest Artists!

at American School for the Deaf in West Hartford
Using a variety of percussion instruments, students will explore connection and self-expression through making music. Students enrolled in this course will work together to create a feature piece for BELIEVE and will provide backing rhythms and more with guest musicians.
Tuition: $480 + $75 production fee. Total: $555
DATES: Thursdays beginning November 14th, 5:00 - 6:00 pm. 15 weeks with 1 built in snow day: 11/14, 11/21, 12/5, 12/12, 12/19, (off 12/26), 1/2, 1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27, 3/5, 3/12, plus required tech week dates

In this class, students will learn to theatrically interpret music using American Sign Language and will connect and express themselves through visual art that will also be part of their performance in BELIEVE.

This is a movement and story-driven class where students will explore song through the use of nonverbal and physical theater techniques. Together we will discover the story in the song and work to devise a major theatrical piece in the final production of BELIEVE alongside headliner, Atlas Gray and other professional musicians.
Tuition: $290 + $75 production fee. Total: $365
DATES: Tuesdays beginning January 14th, 5:30 - 6:30pm: 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/3 (TBD: 3/3 class may be held at Hartford Stage), 3/10, plus required tech week dates; Mon, 3/16 will serve as a snow day make-up if needed.
