Farewell Newsletter

CTIA Farewell Message 🌈

Greetings CTIA Friends,

It feels like a lifetime ago when we had to cancel classes and our performance of BELIEVE - that was scheduled for March 21, 2020 - and in a way, it has been. While we have sincerely considered ideas to be able to continue offering programming that lived up to our mission, unfortunately economic and environmental factors have kept us from leaning in to risk and uncertainty, and we've come to the conclusion that we need to formally say farewell.

With this news, we also want to draw your attention to 4 organizations that are continuing to offer performing and visual arts opportunities that are worthy of your support and attention. Please see below for information and current events for:
We are pleased to share that CT Inclusive Arts has been able to distribute remaining funds to the above organizations for programs that support individuals with disabilities: Hartford Stage (Sensory Friendly Holiday Show on December 3, 2022), American School for the Deaf (Living without Limits Art Show coming in 2023), FreeHorse Arts (Virtual and in-person classes for people of diverse abilities) and to the Miracle League of CT that offers Hartford-area recreational, sporting, dance and performing arts programs for individuals with disabilities through 21 years of age. Funds to the Miracle League are being directed specifically to their in person "Everybody Dance Now" classes offered each year in the fall and spring and to their summer production class that was directed last summer by our own CTIA teacher, Corrine Kravitz, at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford.

In closing, we owe a debt of gratitude to CTIA students, caregivers, teachers, volunteers, musicians, partners, and generous sponsors and donors who believed in us in our pilot and inaugural years. Some of our memories are linked below in video form. Every day is a good day to cultivate kindness, creativity, empathy and more in our communities, and while the sun is setting on CTIA, we hope everyone touched by our program thinks about how to make the world more inclusive in every setting, every day.

With Gratitude,
Jane Woodcox
